Ariana Grande criticized people who “misunderstood” and made “assumptions” about her after she dated Ethan Slater shortly after her split from ex-husband Dalton Gomez.
“I have never felt so happy or proud in life and at the same time I have been so deeply misunderstood by people who do not know me, who listen to whispers and do what they want with me and my life. She wrote in a lengthy Instagram Story on Friday.
Grande explained that she knows “how much more important one of those things is than the other.”

“I have never felt so embraced or so strongly protected by the people (friends, family and fans) who love and understand me. I feel safe even with so many things going on. She added, “Even in the midst of things I would normally be afraid of. I’m listening and trusting myself, even when fear or trauma tells me not to.”
Ariana Grande also shared that she is only “reacting to things that are worth my energy” and “protecting myself from things that aren’t.”
The “Thank U, Next” singer admitted that “people who don’t know me have misunderstood me a lot.”
