The Paris Olympics 2024 are set to begin soon, featuring several sporting events. Here’s everything you need to know about when this summer’s Olympics start and end.

In Paris, athletes will parade in boats along the Seine River. The flotilla will begin at 7:30 p.m. local time on Friday, July 26, which is 1:30 p.m. Eastern time in the U.S. and 10:30 a.m. on the West Coast.

 

According to organizers, about 94 boats will travel along a nearly four-mile route as part of the ceremony, with delegations and performers joining the athletes on the Seine. Nearly 10,500 athletes representing 206 National Olympic Committees are participating in the Games.

When is the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony?

The closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Stade de France. It will feature the parade of flags, the parade of athletes and the victory ceremony, among other events. The closing ceremony in Tokyo lasted about three hours.

The competition began two days before the opening ceremony, on July 24, with the preliminary rounds of archery, soccer, handball and rugby.
