Tom Hardy is back as one of the most dangerous anti-heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor has reprised his role as Venom in the third instalment of the sci-fi action saga. The trailer begins with Eddie transforming into Venom to fight a group of villains, and it leans towards the comedy of the original two films as Eddie and the symbiote awkwardly try to say, “We are Venom.”
The rest of the footage shows Eddie and Venom on the run as fugitives, and Sony’s official plot summary states: “With the world chasing them both and the trap closing in, the two are forced to make a devastating decision that will bring down the curtain on Venom and Eddie’s final dance.”
The trailer also reveals that more symbiotes will arrive on Earth, with Venom warning: “My home has come looking for us.” The possible death of Eddie and/or Venom is hinted at, as the film’s tagline is “Until death do them part,” and Eddie says, “We can’t get out of this world alive, friend.
