Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks also honored their late friend Rosalynn Carter with “Imagine” song

Rosalynn Carter died earlier this month, on November 19, at the age of 96. Many famous persons honor her.

Music was a big part of the service, along with personal anecdotes and Bible passages. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra was on hand to perform several spiritual tunes, and the Carters’ longtime friends Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks, honored their late friend through song the best way they could. The couple, dressed in black and Brooks without his trademark cowboy hats, performed a soft, soulful rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Yearwood took lead vocals while her husband played guitar and provided backing vocals for this beautiful, hopeful tune. When they were done, Yearwood gently touched the casket before taking Brooks’ hand and returning to her seat.
