What happened on the Bachelorette Finale?
Jenn Tran’s journey came to an unexpected conclusion on Tuesday, Sept. 3, on ABC’s season 21 finale of The Bachelorette. However, once a decision was made between Houston trucking company owner Devin Strader and Miami veteran and businessman Marcus Shoberg, things took a surprising turn.
At the beginning of the finale, Jenn said she was in love with both men and needed to see how they interacted with her family before making a decision.

Devin and Marcus’ meetings with Jenn’s family in Hawaii didn’t ease her fears.
After meeting Devin, Jenn’s mother was sceptical, saying she thought she needed more time. Her brother, James Tran, was worried she would continue her pattern of pursuing emotionally unavailable men.
Her meetings with Marcus raised more red flags. James realized Marcus “wasn’t ready” with his feelings yet. Jenn’s mother felt the same way about Marcus. “He’s not ready yet,” she said. Also, read – Adele Announces her Break from Music “I just need a break”
Who does Jenn Tran end up with in Bachelorette?
Jenn’s last few dates gave her the confirmation she needed that Devin was the right choice. While she and Devin ended their date on a positive note, Jenn and Marcus had a rocky experience. Marcus told Jenn he loved her, but the dynamic between them remained awkward. The day after their date, he failed to “live up” to Jenn’s expectations.
Jenn, 26, told host Jesse Palmer about her plans to pop the question to Devin, 28. She told that she would not let Devin propose to her first, and she would propose to Devin.
Host Jesse Palmer interrupted the show during the live portion of the show to reveal that they were not going to show a happy ending.
To help viewers understand what happened, a sobbing Jenn bravely appeared on stage to explain that although she got engaged to her last man in Hawaii, they were no longer together.
Why did Devin break up with Jenn on The Bachelorette?
Jenn held back tears as she recounted what came next in her relationship with Devin.
She said it had been a very rough couple of months.
The proposal was the “happiest day” of her life. After Hawaii, things were changed between them, she said. After two months of estrangement, Devin broke off the engagement over the phone.
Jenn said Devin told her he didn’t love her anymore… that something wasn’t right. From the moment he proposed to me, he regretted getting engaged.
Jenn didn’t understand how he went from openly proclaiming his love to denying he’d ever been in love.
At first, she tried to sympathize, she said, thinking his change in attitude might have had to do with adjusting to real life. Jenn told Devin that she wanted a life with him she didn’t need the ring on her finger but Devin was “Out of Touch.”
She said he didn’t want to fight for the relationship.
They last spoke in July and he has been “avoidant” ever since, according to Jenn.
To cheers and boos, Devin joined Jenn and Jesse on stage to explain his side of the story. Devin said that he failed Jenn, but everything he felt for Jenn was real. Devin also said he had a bunch of doubts throughout their two-month engagement and claimed he was transparent about these feelings.
When Jenn responded that he had been honest with her, he admitted, “Unfortunately, it took me a while to tell you. You’re right.”
Jenn confronted Devin on several accounts.
Jenn spotted Devin following Maria Georgas, who turned down the “Bachelorette” role before Jenn was named, on Instagram.
To which Devin responded that he can’t excuse the following on Instagram and that he knows how much that hurt Jenn. He further added that he failed her and there’s nothing he can say other than that.
At this point, 2022 “Bachelorette” co-star Rachel Recchia, whose season also ended in heartbreak, seemed to be wiping away tears from the audience.
She also accused Devin of partying with fourth-place finisher Jeremy Simon in New York shortly after their breakup. Devin defended himself by saying that he was in town meeting with a client and retorted, “Am I not allowed to live a life?”
She also confronted him for posting about the show with enthusiasm. “It breaks my heart every Monday night to see the lies that you told me on TV,” he said. Devin denied they were lies.
Devin insisted that he only showed up to “After the Final Rose” to make sure Jenn was okay and took responsibility for making her unhappy once the cameras stopped rolling.
He said he watched this beautiful girl grow and blossom into this amazing woman on her own. It didn’t take any of us on the show to make her that person. He thinks it was amazing to watch her blossom into who she was. And he found himself failing to live up to those expectations in the real world, and he found himself unable to live up to the things that she needs, that she deserves.”
He went on to say that he saw himself contributing to Jenn’s regression and that it hurt him. He felt like he was forcing her to compromise in order to be happy… She hasn’t done anything wrong.”
The finale ended with Jesse apologizing to Jenn and giving her a pep talk.
