The Bachelor Season 29: Grant Ellis Named Next Lead
ABC’s newest “Bachelor” is none other than Grant Ellis, who had an emotional exit following Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelorette.” The news comes Monday night at the end of The Bachelorette finale with star Jenn Tran, whose season is averaging 2.38 million same-day viewers, up 15 per cent from the same period last year.
Ellis will be only the second Black “Bachelor” in the reality dating show franchise’s 20-plus-year history. The first was Matt James during “The Bachelor” Season 25 in 2021.
Ellis’ charm and good looks weren’t enough for Jenn Tran, who decided to write him off the show. Ellis was eliminated in the sixth week of Tran’s journey. Now, the former professional basketball player and day trader from New Jersey “is eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure and genuine connections.” “He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humour and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life,” ABC said in a statement.
Jenn Tran Says Goodbye to Grant Ellis
Tran said “goodbye” to Ellis after he told her he was falling in love with her. “I stripped it all away and it wasn’t good enough,” he told cameras. “It sucks knowing that you have feelings for someone and that person doesn’t feel the same way about you.” Like Tran, Ellis almost went to Hometowns,
“I want a family, you know?” he said on the Aug. 12 episode of The Bachelorette. “I want to be happy. I want a wife. I want to be in love. I want that, you know? Grant Ellis is a “self-proclaimed mama’s boy”
30-year-old, Grant Ellis is a day trader and former professional basketball player, he “self-proclaimed mama’s boy” whose infectious smile and unwavering positivity instantly lights up every room he walks into, according to ABC. “When he’s not involved in the fast-paced world of finance, you can find him hitting strikes at the bowling alley, cheering on the Lakers, or belting out songs at karaoke nights,” ABC said in a press release after the announcement.
Ellis also loves to salsa dance, plans to visit every country in the world and “wishes he could live in the year 3000 to see what technology is like,” according to his ABC bio ahead of his season of “The Bachelorette.”
