The famous feud between Swift and Kardashian
It all started when Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech on stage at the 2009 VMAs, saying that she didn’t deserve the award for Best Female Video. Later, in his 2016 song Fame, Kanye rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor can still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” Taylor objected to the song, calling it misogynistic.
But Kim defended Kanye on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that year. She also posted video clips of a phone conversation between Kanye and Taylor to show that Taylor had permitted the song to be released. After this, another leaked video surfaced in which Kim and Kanye were talking to Taylor on the phone and were not giving her complete information about what was going to happen in the song. Taylor Swift released her album Reputation in 2017, which included several songs referencing the episode.
