Selena Gomez has spoken openly about her appearance, reflecting on the changes her body has undergone over the years.

Now the 31-year-old shared a photo from her stay in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last year.
The picture shows the “Only Murders in the Building” actress wearing a high-waist bikini bottom paired with a white bikini top.
“I’m not perfect, but I’m proud of who I am… sometimes I forget it’s okay to be me,” she captioned the second photo.

“There was no sample size that was appropriate, and that would have embarrassed me,” she said in an interview with Fast Company. “However, how unrealistic is it to expect a normal woman’s body to remain unchanged?”

Following her diagnosis, the “Single Soon” singer later had to undergo a kidney transplant and chemotherapy. A few months later, Gomez was spotted in a bikini during a trip to Australia, where pap shots showed the world her surgery scars.
To make matters worse, the former Selena Gomez was living a very public life of grief at the time after her split from singer Justin Bieber.
“Then there were moments when I didn’t feel positive about how I looked because of what I saw on Instagram. ‘Wow, I wish my body looked like that,’ she said.
Things took a turn for the worse in 2018 when the “Lose You to Love Me” hitmaker slipped into psychosis and checked into a treatment center, where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
“I went through a tough season,” she recalled in part. “It was my ups and downs, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would like to cancel things. It was just a painful feeling.”
