Rob Peace Movie Trailer is out – Everything you need to know
The official Rob Peace movie trailer has been released for Republic Pictures’ upcoming biographical drama, which comes from Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Rob Peace Movie is an American biographical drama film. It is based on the 2014 biography The Short Tragic Life of Robert Peace by Jeff Hobbs.
The film tells the story of Robert Peace (Jay Will), who grew up in an impoverished area of Newark, New Jersey, and later graduated from Yale University on a scholarship. Peace led an academic double life: he earned degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry and, at the same time, sold marijuana to help his father (Ejiofor), who believed he had been wrongfully imprisoned for murder.
Rob Peace movie synopsis
The trailer begins with Peace, almost 7 years old, showing off his impressive math skills to his father, Robert “Skeet” Douglas. When he was just 3 years old, Peace was known in kindergarten as “The Professor,” because of his vivid and inquisitive mind.
“That was the last day I remember as a kid,” Will narrates as his character, Peace.
The trailer then shows Skeet being arrested and convicted of a double homicide and sentenced to life in prison after gunshots are heard. However, Skeet claims that he is innocent. Afterwards, Peace’s mother, Jackie Peace (Mary J. Blige), insists that Peace go to college and “remain brilliant.”
Peace does just that. He has been accepted to Yale. But it’s never that simple. Peace cannot fully concentrate on his studies because his father continually asks him for help. He sells marijuana to raise money for Skeet and consequently finds himself drawn into an illegal and dangerous drug culture.
“God help me, I love that man. But he’ll watch you burn to the ground trying to get him out,” Blige screams as her character, Jackie. Also, read – Britney Spears’ Strike Back at Ozzy Osbourne and his Family for Criticizing her
