Synopsis
When three childhood best friends pull a prank that goes wrong, they invent the fictional Ricky Stanicky to get them out of trouble! Twenty years after making this ‘friend’, Dean (Zac Efron), JT (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler) still use the non-existent Ricky as a useful excuse for their immature behavior.
When their spouses and partners become suspicious and eventually demand to meet the famous Mr. Stanicky, the guilty trio hires washed-up actor and sleazy celebrity impersonator “Rock Hard” Rod (John Cena) to revive Ricky.
But when Rod takes his lifelong role too far, they begin to wish they had never invented Ricky in the first place.
