Richie Sambora released his new Solo song “I Pray”
Richie Sambora, 64, released his new song “I Pray” after more than a decade
“He has been doing a lot of writing for the last few years. He has more singles coming after this,” a source told PEOPLE Magazine. “His hit writing never stopped. He has many hit songs and is a pioneer in songwriting.”
Indeed, a press release reveals that “I Pray” is the first of four songs to be released in the coming weeks, among them
1. “Livin’ Alone” (May 3),
2. “Songs That Wrote My Life” (May 10).
3. “Believe (in Miracles)” (17 May).
“I’m at a point in my life where I’m really happy and a big part of that happiness comes from writing songs and making music,” Sambora said in a statement. “There’s a tremendous amount of freedom in these songs because I don’t have to think about charting No. 1 or what’s going on the radio, but I still put the same craftsmanship, care and love into it as I did with ‘Slippery When Wet’. And I hope they bring the same joy to those who choose to listen and those who choose to go to streaming services.” Also read – Eminem releases new studio album titled The Death of Slim Shady
Richie Sambora’s last solo single, “Engine 19”, was released in September 2013, after he left Bon Jovi to focus on his family. Since then, the rocker has released further material as part of the duo RSO with his girlfriend – and fellow guitarist – Orianthi. After releasing a pair of EPs in 2017, RSO put out their debut studio album Radio Free America in 2018. He has also worked with other artists, most recently Dolly Parton on the title track of her 2023 album Rockstar.
Sambora’s new single arrives on the same day that the new Bon Jovi documentary series, Thank You, Goodnight, debuts on Hulu. Although he filmed new, candid interviews for the project, the guitarist was reportedly unhappy with the way he was portrayed.
Despite this, Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi have suggested in recent months that a reunion could occur. In November, the guitarist said that “the time has come” to rejoin the band.
