Based on the same-name book series by Lee Child – the show tells the story of former Major Jack Reacher and his way of providing justice where it is needed. The first season covered the events of the first book Killing Floor and the second season dealt with Bad Luck and Trouble.
Prime has now confirmed which book they are going to adapt in Reacher Season 3.
Since each book in the series has its own story, going from the first book to the eleventh was not a big deal. Prime also took some stories from other books and threw them into the mix to keep book readers excited – a good decision, since the show gave Francis Negley a lot of creative freedom in the beginning.
For the upcoming season, they agreed to adapt Book 7: The Persuader. Negley will be there again, teaming up with co-stars Alan Ritchson and Maria Sten in his next investigation. Ritchson Explains why Jack Reacher can connect with people
In a recent interview with British GQ, Ritchson explained why Reacher connects with so many viewers. “The readership of the books is unprecedented: as many women read these books as men. There was an interesting article about how people say “Men want to be him and women want to sleep with him”, but Reacher has freedom and independence that women want too.
She added, “We believe that independence is a male mindset, but a lot of women share the same desires. I think part of the success is that more people’s wishes were fulfilled than ever before.”
Amazon renewed Reacher for a third season two weeks before the second season premiered. Ritchson, who will also executive produce season 3, announced the news at Prime Video‘s panel at the CCXP conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The release date of Reacher season 3 is probably Next Year (2025).
