A chilling case of kidnaps, rape of Hindu girl and force conversion to Islam has came to light in Maharashtra.
Sayam Qureshi enticed a Hindu girl, raped her, and recorded the crime in a horrifying example of love jihad. Then, he extorted the girl into adopting Islam by using the footage. The incident was reported from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra’s Kopargaon Taluka’s Khadki.
The girl was allegedly raped inside a Khadki madrasa, the crime was caught on camera, and the footage was then used to threaten the girl. In addition, the alleged Qureshi threatened to harm her family members if she disobeyed their demands. Fear gripped the girl, and under duress, she embraced Islam.
On the social media platform Instagram, Qureshi, who is from Indore, made friends with the girl. He indoctrinated the girl into believing that Islam was superior than Hinduism. The victim was coerced into becoming a Muslim, and Qureshi made her conduct the nikah with him.
Qureshi is one of four people who have been detained in connection with the case. The police detained two of the suspects in Kopargaon and two in Indore. The activists of Sriram Sangh freed the girl from the accused. The Kopargaon police have opened an inquiry into the situation and have lodged a case.
The case came shortly after DCM Fadnavis acknowledged that several love jihad instances had been discovered in Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister and minister of the interior of Maharashtra, said on Saturday, June 3, that a significant number of Love Jihad instances had been discovered in the state as a result of investigations into missing person allegations.
Fadnavis stated that his administration is attentive to missing person reports during a media interview in Mumbai, adding that “the detection rate in such cases was 90 to 95 per cent in the state.” Even still, I concur that greater action is needed to halt the exploitation of young females. A legislation against love (grooming) jihad in Maharashtra that is similar to the one in Uttar Pradesh (UP) was underlined by Chitra Wagh, the president of the BJP Women’s Wing, in January.
