NightBitch starring Amy Adams where she slowly turns into a Dog
The nightBitch movie trailer has arrived, directed by Marielle Heller. The movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before release later this year. The movie focuses on a mother who transforms into a dog-like creature.
According to Vanity Fair, Adam the six-time Oscar nominee (she was nominated for Junebug, The Fighter, The Master, Doubt, American Hustle and Vice) said the story is unique and extraordinary and nothing like she had ever read.
NightBitch Movie Plot
The movie is based on the novel of the same name “NightBitch” written by Rachel Yoder which is also her debut novel. The novel won refer as Best Book of The Year” in Vulture and Esquire.
The movie is the story of a stay-at-home mother (a former artist, who has paused her career to be a stay-at-home mom) who feels like she is isolated and trapped in the monotony of motherhood. She became overwhelmed by the demands of raising her young son and the loss of her identity, and her resentment and frustration grew that when she started noticing various changes in her like patches of fur appearing on her body, curves to eat like a dog, digging hole in the garden, and sharpening of her teeth. The Protagonist believe that she is slowly turning into a dog, the transformation that symbolises her desire for freedom from society’s expectations from a mother and repressed rage. As time progresses, she starts to love this new animalistic side of her finding liberation, and power and reconnecting with her instincts. Although this is a surreal experience for her it also raised questions about control and sanity.
