The highly anticipated Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 has a new release date. Created by the trio of Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, this Netflix martial arts comedy-drama is set 34 years after the events of Robert Mark Kamen’s The Karate Kid and follows a depressed Johnny Lawrence who revives his Cobra Kai Dojo hoping to seek redemption.

Cobra Kai initially premiered in 2018 and has successfully produced 5 full seasons, which were widely received. The ongoing Season 6 will conclude the series.

What can we expect from Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2?

The first part of Cobra Kai season 6 finally arrived on Netflix on July 18. After defeating Terry Silver’s dojo at the end of Season 5, Johnny and Daniel managed to resolve most of their differences while preparing their respective students for the Sekai Taikai (world championship) in this new season.

The problem is that only six of the Miyagi-Do fighters can make it to the world competition in Barcelona. Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Tory (Payton List), Samantha (Mary Mouser), Robby (Tanner Buchanan), Hawk (Jacob Bertrand), Devon (Oona O’Brien) and the rest of the karate team will have to fight.

Meanwhile, Kreese (Martin Kove) and Kim Da-Eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim) will also head to the Sekai Taikai, with their own fierce fighters from their Japanese team, Kreese’s new generation of Cobra Kai competitors.

With Tory leaving Miyagi-do and reuniting with Cobra Kai, Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 will introduce a new conflict to the tournament.

While Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 1 largely establishes who will be chosen to represent their overseas dojo, the next part is expected to up the ante. Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 will set up the final conflict with Krease and Cobra Kai in the Sekai Taikai, which will be broadcast for the entire world to see. Is Cobra Kai season 6 the last?

Cobra Kai has had good audience numbers on Netflix; However, the creators decided to end it after season 6 for the sake of the story. In an interview, co-creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg revealed that they decided to conclude the series after filming the fifth season.

“We knew in the fifth season that we were in final times. It wasn’t until after filming the fifth season that we exactly decided, ‘Okay, this will be the end afterwards,'” Schlossberg said in the interview.

“For us, it was very important from the beginning [to have a finish line]. So, we knew where we wanted the relationship between Johnny and Daniel to go, and we knew some of the things that were going to happen in that final episode. “A lot of things evolved along the way, but there was always that kind of North Star and we were determined to do as many seasons as possible,” Hurwitz added.

When will the second part of Cobra Kai season 6 premiere?

In January 2023, Netflix announced that the sixth season would be the last. In May, the streamer detailed that the sixth season would have 15 episodes and would premiere in batches of five. (Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2 will be released on November 15 and the final part will air next year).
