Morgan Wallen postpones three shows due to illness

Country music star Morgan Wallen announced that his Friday show in Tampa was cancelled.

Morgan Wallen announced the cancellation of his Friday show in Tampa just hours before its scheduled start. Wallen is currently on his “One Night At A Time” tour with a rotating lineup of supporting artists, including Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Bailey Zimmerman, Jon Pardi, Nate Smith, Bryan Martin, Lauren Watkins and Ella Langley.

What is the reason for the rescheduling?

The announcement was made on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on July 12, just before their scheduled performance at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

He posted on X that he really hates to reschedule shows but he will not be able to perform in Tampa on Thursday Night properly due to his illness and when he woke up after taking some rest (Friday) he was feeling much worse.

Morgan Wallen admitted That he will not be able to give 100% in his performance if he continues with his concerts which are scheduled to take place on future dates. He further informs fans that, unfortunately, he has to reschedule the Tampa Show to October 4th and next week’s Charlotte shows to October 18th and 19th.

Not long after his announcement, Jelly Roll, who was expected to take the stage before Wallen, told fans that he was “working hard” to find a solution. Also read – ‘Tracker Season 2’ Will Return With Colter Shaw This Fall

“Dear Tampa, I’m working hard to prepare something for all of you tonight, stay tuned,” he wrote on X. He later posted: “TAMPA! Dallas Bull tonight; doors open at 7 p.m.

This isn’t the first time Wallen has cancelled a performance at the last minute.

Last year, the country singer was forced to cancel his show at Ole Miss Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, after losing his voice. The sudden cancellation concluded what was supposed to be two consecutive nights of performances. Wallen shared the news on his Instagram Story at the time.

He explained that after his last night’s show, he started to lose his voice, so his doctor on examining told him to rest for the day and to do vocal exercises to better improvement. “I really thought I could go on stage and it kills me to perform so close to show time, but my voice is destroyed and I can’t sing.”

Fans would receive a refund, according to the country music star. Morgan Wallen added: “I’m so sorry, I promise you I tried everything I could.”

The cancellation came after the opening acts were performed, leaving some fans angry.

Morgan Wallen faced some unfortunate incidents during the shows.

During the country music artist’s June 27 performance at Denver’s Mile High Stadium, an overly excited fan threw his cell phone at Wallen. The phone hit him on the shoulder and landed on the stage. Wallen threw the phone offstage, unfazed by the incident, and continued performing Cowgirls.

At his concert in Minneapolis on Friday, June 21, Wallen was hit in the face with a fan’s underwear. He remained calm, smiled and walked to the other side of the stage.
