Kraven The Hunter 2024 – Everything You Need to Know before watching the movie
Kraven the Hunter has suffered several delays in releasing the date. Now the first trailer has been released, we finally have a new trailer for Sony Pictures’ latest Marvel movie.
In this action-packed trailer, there’s plenty of gory violence and the appearance of a mutated Rhino that, to some extent, looks pretty faithful to the comics. As an action movie, Kraven the Hunter seems pretty good… knowing that this is one of Spider-Man’s villains, who is well known for his hunting game in the Marvel comic.
Plot of the movie
Kraven the Hunter, which will be the live-action debut of the villain, will explore how Sergei becomes the iconic antagonist as he approaches his rise to power in a slightly different way than in the comics. Aleksei likely has something to do with the story because he may be working for Nikolai, who may be responsible for how he becomes Rhino in Kraven the Hunter. Based on the footage alone, Kraven the Hunter is all about action, as it leans heavily into its R rating.
It’s unclear if Kraven the Hunter will ultimately debut a new live-action Spider-Man, as the arachnid is still nowhere to be seen in the preview images. If anything, Kraven the Hunter will likely be a standalone story that dives headfirst into Sergei’s familiar struggles while still tackling Spider-Man characters like Chameleon, Rhino, and even Marvel villain (The Foreigner). More on Kraven the Hunter
Kraven was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #15 (August 1964) as an adversary of the superhero Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Although he occasionally appeared in other characters’ titles, he was most often used as an enemy of Spider-Man. Kraven dies in the acclaimed 1987 story by J. M. DeMatteis, Mike Zeck, and Bob McLeod, “Kraven’s Last Hunt.” DeMatteis claims that none of Marvel’s editorial staff objected to the proposal to kill him off in the story.
Kraven later returns as a ghost in the graphic novel The Amazing Spider-Man: Soul of the Hunter, also by DeMatteis, Zeck, and McLeod. DeMatteis also wrote “Kraven’s First Hunt” for The Sensational Spider-Man Annual ’96, a remake of The Amazing Spider-Man #15 that incorporated several DeMatteis retrocons, such as Kraven abusing Chameleon.
