KAOS Netflix: Jeff Goldblum’s Zeus Shows Off His Cruelty in New Trailer
KAOS Netflix’s most anticipated projects of 2024 just got a New thrilling look. Netflix’s official YouTube account has revealed a new trailer for Kaos, the contemporary take on Greek mythology starring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, king of Olympus, whose insecurities and paranoia threaten the entire world and three humans connected to a prophecy he fears. The cast also includes Janet McTeer as Hera, David Thewlis as Hades and Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, while Westworld star Aurora Perrineau plays Riddy.
KAOS Netflix Series Synopsis
In the intriguing world of KAOS, it’s the pantheon of the gods versus the humans with Zeus at the top of the mythological food chain as the cruel and graceful ruler of the gods, a position he’s enjoyed for some time. One day, he discovers the unthinkable: a wrinkle on his forehead. Paranoia mounts, leading the supreme deity down a dangerous and unstable path. The all-powerful Zeus is convinced his downfall is near and sees omens of doom everywhere. This is a god with “trust issues,” Goldblum explains. “It’s a magic carpet ride to disaster.”
The problem “is that trigger of ‘Uh-oh, nature is a chicken coming home to eat the consequences,’” he says. “The longer that [thought process] goes on, the worse it gets. It’s like starving dogs: When you leave them in the basement without food, they start barking louder and louder. And when you finally let them out, oh, my God!” Also read – Chappell Roan Says She Doesn’t Care About His Music’s Chart Success
And he’s right to be worried because Zeus’ former friend and now prisoner Prometheus (Stephen Dillane) is plotting to bring him down. The film follows three very different human beings — Ari (Leila Farzad), Riddy (Aurora Perrineau), and Caneus (Misia Butler) — who are unaware of their cosmic importance or the role they must play in saving the world.
While Zeus battles his greatest fears, the rest of his family is scheming and failing in their ways. There’s Zeus’s cunning wife, Hera; his rebellious son, Dionysus; and his complicated brothers, Hades and Poseidon. “There are secrets that people keep, just like in any family,” says Goldblum. “But after 2,000-plus years together, you can imagine!”
“It’s so brutal. It’s about the 1%, which is what I think the gods are,” says McTeer. “They will do anything for their pleasure. They don’t care even if it costs the earth or the people.”
