Jennifer Hudson and Common Seemingly Confirm Their Relationship
On Monday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Grammy-winning rapper sits down with Hudson after bringing her flowers — and opens up about his latest relationship.
In a clip from the episode shared on the show’s official Instagram account on January 21, Hudson humorously pressed Common to discuss the romance.
Hudson said playfully, “Let’s get to work, Mr. Common.” “I’m a host, and so I have to ask you this question because everyone always wants to know. Are you dating anyone?”
The audience starts screaming as the 51-year-old rapper laughs nervously.
Common Described the love of his life
Common replies, “So, yes. And I’m in a relationship with one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in my life.”
The crowd applauds as he continues to list specific qualities and says, “She’s smart, she loves God, she’s down to earth. She’s brilliant.”
While Hudson watches and smiles, Common explains that he has set his standards pretty high “because she should have the EGOT.” She had to win an Oscar for his very first film. She had to get her talk show
After hearing her praise, Hudson, 42, said, “Oh, okay,” and giggled before the video ended.
Common then asked Hudson the question, confirming the status of her relationship status. “I’m dating this brother and I’m very happy,” she says.

Previous relationship of Tiffany Haddish and Jennifer Hudson
Common was previously in a relationship with Tiffany Haddish. She said in an interview with The Washington Post in July 2023 that their breakup “was not mutual” as he previously said after their separation in 2021.
He has a daughter, Omoye Assata Lynn, with former partner Kim Jones.
Jennifer Hudson dated James Payton from 1999 to 2007. She began dating former WWE wrestler David Otunga and the couple became engaged in 2008. He quit it in 2017.
The talk show host and Otunga’s 14-year-old son is David Daniel Otunga Jr.
