Jamie Lynn Spears reveal her fear of losing her daughter
In the latest episode of the UK reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, the 32-year-old actress Jamie Lynn Spears recalled the serious 2017 ATV accident that left her eldest daughter Maddie in a coma.
Recalling what happened to her classmates, Spears said, “I almost lost my oldest daughter. She drowned, and we couldn’t save her.”
“We tried so hard. She got stuck under a small sedge that surrounded our pond,” she recalls, adding that the girl, now 15, was “8 or 9” at the time.
“My father-in-law, my mother-in-law, my husband, and I run to jump to save her and you. At that moment, you think, ‘This is not real. She will come out; this is not real.’ Real,'” she continued.
“She could feel her arm, and she was shaking it; she couldn’t lift it because it was a very heavy machine. At that moment, you think, logically, you know she’s going to be there for a long time.” “I’ve been underwater.”
“No one can survive being underwater for that long. These things are thought about logically,” she said. “Then you hear the sirens. Thank God, my mother-in-law called 911 first. [Maddy] got trapped in the safety net. So when they got there, she wasn’t alive. They took her away, and they intubated me..”
Spears recalled sitting there, distraught and nauseous, when she heard her mother-in-law call her mother and say, “‘Lynn, we’ve lost Maddie.'”
Moments later, a firefighter told Spears that Maddie had a pulse.
“They airlifted her. She’s on life support, respirators and all that… They come in, they bring a priest to read her the last rites, and when they do that, her body physically wakes up,” she said. . She said she is a mom of two who shares Maddie with her ex, Casey Aldridge, and her daughter, Ivy Joan, 5, with her husband, Jamie Watson.
“Her spirit responded to it for whatever reason. She got better day by day, and she walked out of the hospital. [She] had no effect. That’s when I became Catholic. For about five minutes, I thought I had lost my daughter, and then I “felt given the miracle of recovering it.”
“My biggest fear was that she would die thinking that her mother wasn’t trying to save her,” Spears admitted through tears.
