Jada Pinkett Smith reveals that she and Will Smith have separated
Hollywood : In an exclusive clip with Jada Pinkett hosted by Hoda Kotb in upcoming special on NBC News’ star hour, which will air on October Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, Pinkett Smith confirms there is more to her marriage than she previously shared.
Pinkett Smith said that the couple had not previously made public their separation because “they were not yet listed”.
“We were still trying to discover among us how to make the association work,” she said. Pinkett Smith, 52, and Smith, 55, have been married since 1997, nearly 20 years. Since 2016, she and Smith have been separated and live “completely separate lives”.
Pinkett Smith told Kotb during her interview that “a lot of things had occurred that ruined the marriage.” She said that she “promised” that there would be no reason for divorce between her and Smith, and she had kept the promise.

In July 2020, singer August Alsina revealed that he had a romantic relationship with Pinkett Smith, which she confirmed during an episode with her husband on “Red Table Talk”. “They were going through a very difficult moment” when this happened.

During the 2022 Academy Awards, Will Smith stormed the stage and assaulted presenter Chris Rock after he mocked Pinkett Smith’s calf. Pinkett Smith is suffering from alopecia, because of which the hair has started to fall.
Pinkett Smith spoke about the incident and said that, like many others, she initially thought it was a fun encounter between the two individuals. It wasn’t until Will started walking back to his chair that she asked him, Was it an act? She told the publication that as soon as they started soloing, she asked Smith, “Are you okay?”.
