J.K. Rowling’s detective series “Strike” is about to begin shooting Season 6
A crime drama series, “Strike” starring J.K. Rowling based on Rowling’s Cormoran Strike novel has been making a lot of headlines recently. The series was recently renewed for a sixth season and filming is also expected to begin soon.
Cormoran Strike (Tom Burke), a war veteran turned private detective from a small office in London’s Denmark Street, uses his unique insight and his background as a Special Investigation Branch investigator to solve complex cases with his business partner, Robin Ellacott (Holliday Grainger).
Strike is based on the novels by J.K. Rowling’s pseudonymous Robert Galbraith. Season 6 will feature an adaptation of The Ink Black Heart, reflecting Rowling’s own experience of being caught up in the culture wars. It focuses on the murder of a successful YouTube animator, who becomes the target of constant online hatred. At one point, Eddie Ledwell was accused of being transphobic. Rowling has clarified that the character is not based on her own life, but she acknowledges that she experienced similar online hatred during and after writing the novel, published in August 2022.
The BBC was forced to apologize to Rowling twice last year after guests on news shows accused her of being transphobic.
