Is Dave Bautista moving to DC to Work with James Gunn?
Dave Bautista, the former WWE Superstar, is also known for portraying MCU Guardians of the Galaxy member Drax the Destroyer Has shown interest in joining DC Universe under James Gunn without financial Motivation.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Bautista had expressed his desire to work with James Gunn in the DC Universe. Previously Dave had the opportunity to work with James in the famous movie “The Suicide Squad” but he chose Army of the Dead by Zack Snyder, so this time Dave didn’t want to miss any chance and came forward to say that he is always ready for a movie with James Gunn.
Dave Bautista said “I haven’t talked to James about the DC Universe. I would love to work with James again, whether it’s DC Universe or not. I just love James Gunn. He’s an incredible director and we have a priceless camaraderie. So to work with him again? I mean I’d do it for free. But we just haven’t had the conversations. He’s on top of DC now. He’s doing his thing. I’m trying to grind along in my processing. But I’m always open-minded too and I’ve expressed that to him.”
Why did Dave exit from the Role of Drax The Destroyer?
In a 2023 interview on Ellen DeGeneres show Bautista pointed out that Drax’s physic is one of the reasons he wants to leave his beloved character because he is now 50 plus and maintaining that huge shredded body to play Drax had become difficult for him.
He doesn’t want to ruin the image of the Drax and wants fans to remember Drax in his perfect shape.

Dave had previously revealed that After leaving the WWE, he struggled to make an earning in Hollywood, at a point where he didn’t even have money to pay for food or rent.
He recalled that he once borrowed money to buy Christmas gifts for his kids, but then the Drax role came to him as a blessing. That is why Dave even considers Drax the Lifesaver. The role of Drax played by Dave is one of the most fan favorites due to his humorous character had helped Dave mold the Iron in the Hollywood Industry.
