Imaginary a new horror movie on the way after M3ghan and Five Nights at Fredd’s

Imaginary is Blumhouse’s third film, following M3ghan and Five Nights at Freddy’s, to focus on a form of children’s entertainment as a satanic or antisocial element of the story. The film explores the psychological and paranormal roots that imaginary friends can develop when they are locked in a closet or attic.

Produced by Jeff Wadlow and Jason Blum, the film is also directed by the former and stars DeWanda Wise as Jessica, Piper Brown as Alice, Tom Payne as Max, Betty Buckley as Gloria, Dr. Alana, Veronica Taigan Burns as Falcon , Soto. Taylor and Matthew Sato as Liam.

The official Blumhouse synopsis reads: “When Jessica Davis (DeWanda Wise) returns with her family to her childhood home, her youngest stepdaughter, Alice (Piper Braun), develops an obsession with a teddy bear named Chauncey. It happens. A terrible attachment develops, which is found in the basement.”

“Alice begins playing games with Chauncey that start out fun and gradually become sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more concerning, Jessica intervenes and realizes that Chauncey is much more than the teddy bear she thought he was.

The trailer for this film, which is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2024, was released on November 16, 2023.

This terrifying and unusual horror film has been picked up for distribution by Lionsgate.
