Gina Carano The ‘Mandalorian’ star sues Disney over firing in a lawsuit

Gina Carano is suing Disney over her firing from “The Mandalorian” — claiming she was punished for not commenting on the political party line… and that Elon Musk supported her.

Gina Carano, who had a major role in the hugely popular Disney series The Mandalorian until 2021, filed a lawsuit in California on Tuesday claiming wrongful termination.

Carano alleges that she was fired for expressing right-wing opinions on social media, claiming that this did not happen to her male colleagues who made similar posts. Elon Musk is following through on a promise to pay the legal bills of users who claim they have been discriminated against because of their activity on his platform, helping finance the lawsuit.

Gina Carano said that she has been contacted by X’s lawyer to help her in the case to which she replied “Yes”

The lawsuit does not specify how much damages Carano is seeking, but claims she lost a role in the planned Mandalorian spin-off, Rangers of the New Republic, which would have been worth “$150,000 to $250,000 per episode.”
