Emma Stone loves to be called by her Real Name
The Poor Things actress Emma Stone, whose real name is Emily Jean Stone, recently revealed that while she took the name “Emma” when she first joined the Screen Actors Guild, she would still enjoy being called Emily.
“It would be great,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on April 24. “I’d like to be Emily.”
In the interview, Stone and her co-star in The Curse, Nathan Fielder, discussed the name she was given and which she uses at work. “I’d like to say something,” Fielder said at the beginning of the interview. “Her name is Emily, but professionally she goes by the name Emma. So when there are people who don’t know her, I call her Emma. But from now on I’ll just call her Emily.”
Emma explained that when she got her SAG card she had to change her name to “Emma Stone” because another actress named “Emily Stone” was already registered with the union. Also, read – Richie Sambora released his new song “I Pray” after more than a decade
But this can’t just be a dream, because there are already people in Hollywood who call them by their real names.
“The people I work with do this when I get to know them,” she said. “A few years ago I was scared. For some reason, I thought, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Just call me Emily.’
In fact, the Oscar winner was recently honoured with her real full name, “Emily Jean Stone” in “Florida!!!”, a song from Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department.
