Ellen DeGeneres returns with “Ellen’s Last Stand-Up Tour”
Comedian Ellen DeGeneres made a remarkable return to the stand-up stage Wednesday night in West Hollywood with “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour.”
The comedian did a live show in LA this week, attended by a few journalists — and she addressed them after she left her famous talk show … which is ending in 2022 following claims from former employees over the workplace addressing it as a nightmare.
The controversy that caused The Ellen DeGeneres Show to shut down
DeGeneres’ show on NBC closed in 2022 due to a toxic workplace controversy that damaged her reputation as a beloved host. In 2020, former staff members of the show accused her of creating a culture where she held a prominent position and allowed executives to engage in alleged bullying, bigotry, and sexual harassment.
DeGeneres told the Los Angeles crowd that since the show ended she’s been doing a lot of gardening and collecting chickens as pets — which lays an egg every day. Also read – Mike Pinder the last original member of Moody Blues Died
DeGeneres hopes her return to stand-up goes well
Ellen DeGeneres claimed that her “funk” was affecting her wife, Portia de Rossi. “‘I make fun of what happened to me, but it was devastating. It took me a long time to get the desire to do anything again.’
She hoped her return to stand-up would bring “happiness” amid “scary times”, saying the world needed “more laughter and less drama”. Also read – Emma Stone loves to be called by her Real Name
