Dolly Parton’s song “Jolene” is on Beyoncé Country Song?

Following the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on February 4, the Internet was abuzz with suspicions about Beyoncé country song, even before she announced it.

Beyoncé historically keeps the details of her record secret — she dropped her two new singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” from the sky during the Super Bowl — but Parton revealed that she believes that the singer covered her 1973 classic “Jolene” For the next album.

“Texas Hold ‘Em” has so far spent two weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Beyoncé’s ninth number 1 hit on the chart. It also become the top song on the Hot Country Songs and Global 200 charts with over 60 million streams.

Despite the success of “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Beyoncé Country song received criticism. Some country music stations were initially hesitant to play her new country songs because she has traditionally been a pop/R&B artist.

But Parton welcomed Beyoncé country song with open arms.

“A lot of people don’t realize that Beyoncé is a country girl. She’s from Texas,'” Parton said of the Houston-born singer. ”I think we’re where we can do well, and her song is number one on every chart around the world, I think. So, I mean, who can argue with that?”
