Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert are finally opening up about their scary health emergency that she had ahead of Christmas.
Two months later, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert sat down in front of the camera, with Erbert admitting that she had both good and bad days after being diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel. The couple, who married in August, were performing on their Symphony of Dance Tour in December when she collapsed and was taken to hospital for emergency surgery.
“It’s very strange to go from the highest to the lowest. But I have to say, this woman has been incredible through this whole experience, and her perseverance and acceptance of the whole situation, her strength, seeing it firsthand is remarkable,” said Hough, 38. “He’s truly a miracle and it’s been miraculous and it’s still a journey.” Also, read – Jason Momoa SUPER BOWL commercial with Donald Faison and Zach Braff
Erbert said, “To this day, I still have very good days and I still have very bad days – sometimes emotionally and physically – but I’m doing much better every day.” (Source – INSTA)
Hough first announced on Instagram that Erbert suffered symptoms of a cranial hematoma — when blood collects in the skull — after the Symphony of Dance tour stopped in the city on Dec. 6.
In an update shared on his website, the Dancing with the Stars judge revealed that his wife was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma caused by a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. Erbert was taken into emergency surgery on 7 December.
Following her surgery, Hough gave his social media followers regular updates on his wife’s condition.
