Dave Grohl Admits He Fathered a Baby Outside of His Marriage
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl revealed Tuesday that he fathered a baby outside of his marriage.
He shared on Social media that recently he became a father to a new daughter, born outside of his marriage.
He plans to be a loving and supportive father to her.” He further wrote that he loves his wife and children, and he is doing everything he can to earn their trust and forgiveness. He continued “We are grateful for their consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Grohl, who has children with Blum (Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10), wrote in a Sept. 10 Instagram post about his new daughter.
Grohl did not share any further details about the identity of his newborn’s mother.
The news of the Nirvana alum’s baby comes a month after his and Jordyn’s 21st wedding anniversary. The couple married in August 2003, six years after Grohl settled his divorce with his first wife, Jennifer Youngblood, amid allegations of infidelity on her part, according to The Guardian.
How did Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum meet?
In an impromptu interview with Q magazine, Grohl revealed that he stopped calling Blum after just a few dates.
He said that he met Jordyn one night in 2001. He and Taylor [Hawkins] were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar where Taylor was the hottest, he is saying that because girls were sending him drinks. A bombshell shows up and starts talking to Taylor. On the other hand, He had just left a Tenacious D session and was wearing Vans, dirty shorts, no socks, and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood,” Growl told the outlet.
“She gestured to her friend Jordyn to come over. I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance! ’” ’” ’” ’” ’” ’” ’” ’” ’” So he was just having a few drinks and acting like a jerk. “At the end of the night I got mad, looked at her and said, ‘You’re my future ex-wife,’” he laughed. After that, she gave her number to Him where she had written “Your Future Ex-Wife Jordyn” along with the number.
The early days of their romance were, admittedly, rocky. As Grohl recounted an interview with Elle in 2007, he said that When he first met his wife, they went out a couple of times and he decided he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so he just stopped calling her.
But Blum was still on his mind. After three months, he had a revelation and called her again. Blum was shocked to hear Grohl’s voice on the other end of the phone, she told her: “Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.”

Dave Grohl’s life changed after marriage
Although the former Nirvana drummer doesn’t often talk about his wife in interviews, he did speak about the importance of his family in 2009, telling TIME: “I used to be on tour nine months a year. Now I don’t like to be away from my kids for more than 12 days.”
The musician continued: “It’s changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life from a different perspective. You feel love more deeply and maybe you’re a little more compassionate. That inevitably comes through in your songwriting.”
In 2023, Blum made a rare public appearance with Grohl and their three daughters for the 2023 Grammy Awards, where the family of five posed for photos together on the red carpet.
Blum wore a short black sequined dress, while Grohl rocked an all-black ensemble. Meanwhile, the couple’s eldest daughter Violet rocked a blazer dress and knee-high boots; Harper rocked a floral dress with lug-soled boots; and Ophelia rocked a flowing ombré-effect dress that she accessorized with a gold clutch.
Blum and Grohl were recently spotted attending the Wimbledon tennis tournament in London in July 2024. The two sat together in the coveted royal boxes alongside several celebrities, including David Beckham.
