Yogi Adityanath addressed a conference on ‘ Race for Life: Circular Economy and Local Climate Action’ organized by the Department of Forest, Environment, and Climate Change on the occasion of World Environment Day.


CM Yogi said ” It is concerning how the Environment is constantly neglected in the 51-year journey of Economic Development”


“Earth, Water, Air, Trees, and Plants work together to form the environment but human due to their selfish nature has damaged the environment, and polluted its water, air, and other natural resources.
This results in various diseases, increase in global warming, flood, and other natural climates” he added.


He states that the government is promoting eco-friendly energy sources so that less tension will be on nature.


He further gives the example that project like Namami Gange which focus on cleaning the Gange River are necessary and people should participate in those projects. Banned single-use plastic is not degradable and some time animals consume it and die both on land and in oceans.


He also gave the mantra of the 6 R’s – reduce, recycle, recover, refabricate, and repair to protect the environment from plastic.


CM Yogi informed that Van Mahotsav will be organized in the first week of July and the state government has decided to plant 35 crop saplings mainly of Neem, Jamun, Mango, Banyan, Pakad, and Peepal.


During the Program, CM Yogi released a booklet and animated film of the forest department focusing on environmental Protection.
