Director Christopher Landon announced his exist from Scream VII
Christopher Landon announced on social media that he had abandoned the latest installment of the franchise more than a month and a half ago, calling the project “a nightmare”.
“I think now is a good time to announce that I officially left Scream VII weeks ago,” Landon wrote Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter. “It will disappoint some people and delight others. It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart breaks for everyone involved. All.”
Now, Christopher Landon said, “it’s time to move on.”
He added, “I have nothing more to add to the conversation other than that I hope Wes’s legacy grows and rises above the noise of a divided world.” “What he and Kevin [Williamson, who wrote the Scream script] created is amazing and I feel honored to enjoy even a brief moment of their talent.”

Landon’s departure from Scream VII comes a month after Melissa Barrera, who starred in the franchise’s fifth and sixth installments, was fired from the film after posting a series of messages on social media in which she said Criticism of Israel’s actions amid the Palestinian–Israeli crisis.
