Chris Pine makes his directorial debut with the upcoming film Poolman
Exclusive trailer for Pine’s Poolman, which he co-wrote, starred in, and directed. Pine co-wrote the film with Ian Gotler. Pine and Gottler produced with Stacey Sher and Pine’s Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. He shot this film in 2022 when the pandemic was still going on and now it is set to release in theaters in May. It initially premiered last fall at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival but received very poor reviews from most critics at the festival.
Synopsis
Chris Pine portrayed Darren Berenman as a dedicated Angeleno who devoted his days to maintaining the pool at the Tahiti Tiki residential complex and attempting to improve his town.
His routine life takes a turn when a mysterious woman assigns him the task of investigating a suspicious business transaction. Facing a scheming politician and a shady property developer, Darren rallies his friends for support. His journey not only uncovers hidden aspects of the city he loves but also leads to personal revelations that will shake Darren to the core.
