Cardi B gets angry at Joe Budden for criticizing album delay
As the wait continues for her long-awaited Sophomore album, Cardi B criticized Joe Budden for his criticism of the release of her project and made accusations of drug use against him.
The Grammy-winning artist went on a rampage against the rapper-turned-podcaster during a Twitter Spaces session on Thursday afternoon (July 18).
It all started when the rapper-turned-podcaster predicted in a recent podcast that Cardi B won’t release another album in her career, noting that her last album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in 2018, which is six years ago.
Cardi B did not receive the criticism of her project very well and decided to educate him. Criticizing Budden on X (formerly Twitter), she said he had never said anything positive about her work.
She also accused him of receiving a lap dance from her and of using drugs.
“Bro, I gave you a lap dance twice at Starlets. You were so high. “I’m high on coke, n-a… I don’t give a damn when people talk shit about me,” she spat. “It’s the fact that you always talk bad about me, Joe Budden. Out of nowhere, you’d think I did something to this n…. For the last two years, this n…… has nothing but bad things to say about me.” Also read – Kim Kardashian reveals her son’s rare skin condition
Cardi B doesn’t like Budden allegedly putting her against other rising female rappers.
“Every five or six months you compare another female rapper to me, you compare new artists, old artists, all the damn artists to me, bro,” Cardi B said. “If you love these bitches so much, why don’t you talk about their album? You compare me to women whose worst records surpass their best records. I don’t give a damn about any of these bitches.
Cardi continued: “But you really want my album to come out so you can critique it,” she said. “Because every time I drop something you don’t like it. Every time a bitch drops something and does it mediocre, you say she does it better than me… What are you talking about? The shit is in motion. The merchandising and the box set are in motion. “You don’t know shit.”
Budden responds to Cardi B’s complaint
After Cardi’s Spaces rant, Budden rejected accusations of cocaine use and receiving a lap dance from her. He also promised “not to cover anything Cardi B does for the rest of her career.”
“I really just wanted an album from someone whose music I love,” he wrote on X and finally apologized to the “WAP” rapper. “She swears at me without a problem, but she’s still hilarious hahaha…. “I’m going to bed, I apologize to @iamcardib for what I did and peace and love to everyone.”
It’s been more than six years. Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy album arrived in April 2018. Her acclaimed debut topped the Billboard 200 with 255,000 units sold in the first week and won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
While the prospects for his sophomore project are unknown, Cardi will drop another interesting film when she teams up with Rob49 for “On Dat Money” on Friday (July 19).
