Bruce Willis’ Daughter Opens Up About His Health
Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, opened up about her father as he battles dementia.
During her “Today” show appearance, the actor’s eldest daughter told host Hoda Kotb that her father is “pretty cool” and that she recently saw him before he moved to New York.
“Lou was just starting to walk a little bit and she walked up to him and it was so cute,” Rumer Willis said.
She added, “It’s great because I think my dad is a girl dad. And he’s almost like that little kid, girl dad. He’s so sweet with her. You know, how I saw him with his sisters, his little sisters.”
When asked what it’s been like to be the granddaughter of both Bruce Willis and her mother, Demi Moore, Rumer Willis said it’s been “pretty cool.”
“Honestly, seeing him with them brings back all the childhood memories because I think being a grandparent is the best,” she explained.
“They have all the love and joy without any of the responsibility. They can pamper her.”
Bruce Willis retired from acting in 2022 after news broke that he had aphasia. His family later announced that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, which can cause emotional problems, unusual behaviour and difficulty communicating, according to the National Institute on Aging. Bruce Willis’ wife gets much-needed help
Bruce Willis’ wife says she was carrying a heavy burden before the world found out about his medical condition … but now, she and her family are getting all the support they need.
Emma Hemming recently sat down for a conversation with the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration – which discussed what Bruce is currently dealing with – and the moderator asked her how going public with her husband’s diagnosis affected her and her family.
Emma explained here that going public opened many doors and allowed her to access resources for Bruce’s care that she didn’t have before. It was heartbreaking to hear this, but it was comforting to know that Emma and her peers could get the help they needed. Something like this is sensitive, so you could say revealing the truth was difficult in itself.
