Oscar-nominated British actor Tom Wilkinson, best known for his roles in “The Full Monty,” “Michael Clayton” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” has died, his family said. He was 75 years old.

Personal Life of Wikinson

Thomas Geoffrey Wilkinson ( Tom Wilkinson) was born on 5 February 1948 in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, son of a farmer.At the age of 11, he moved with his family to Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, where he lived for five years before returning to United Kingdom.

Wilkinson studied in Canterbury, Kent. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from the university. While at university, Wilkinson began acting and directing at the University of Kent Drama Society. After completing his degree, Wilkinson enrolled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Wilkinson made his acting debut in 1976 in the thriller Smuga Sienia, directed by Andrzej Wajda, based on Joseph Conrad’s novel The Shadow Line.
