Get ready for a thrilling, suspenseful ride with Breakwater
Dermot Mulroney looks downright evil in the trailer for Vertical and Loose Canon Pictures’ upcoming crime thriller, Breakwater. Directed by James Rowe, who also wrote the screenplay, Breakwater is the filmmaker’s second film after directing Blue Ridge Falls two decades ago.
Synopsis
In the opening moments of the trailer, Mulroney’s character, Ray Childress, comes to life in the back of an ambulance. After stealing a gun from a police officer, Ray escaped, jumped out of the vehicle, and ran into the woods.
While painting a semi-obvious backstory, we learn that Ray is an ex-convict who befriended another inmate named Dovey (Darren Mann, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) during his time behind bars. Ray, a seemingly devoted father, asks Dovey to find him to investigate his daughter and retaliates with an anonymous favor that Dovey owes his friend.
The mystery begins here when Dovi meets Ray’s adult son and discovers that his friend has been hiding a lot of information. True to the film’s promise, the trailer keeps the audience guessing until the final moments that the fugitive Ray is searching for his daughter and his baby, but the trailer does not reveal for what purpose.

Breakwater has a very talented cast, including characters from some well-known titles. Along with Mulroney and Mann, Breakwater movie also stars BAFTA-nominated actresses Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Sonja Sohn (The Wire), Celia Rose Gooding (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) and Alyssa Goss (The Bobby Brown Story) .
