Bradley Cooper is ready to star in in any part of The Hangover franchise
Bradley Cooper The Maestro star and director, who played laid-back Phil in the film series, was asked on Friday’s episode of The New Yorker Radio Hour if he was leaving his comedic past behind to take on more dramatic roles and spend more time on camera.
“Is your fun over?” host David Remnick asked. “In other words, if another slightly funny comedy role comes along, it’ll be three months of your life; it’s not The Hangover 5, but something in a similar spirit.”
Cooper responded, “Okay, I’ll do The Hangover 5.” “It’ll be before [The Hangover] 4, but yes.”
Bradley Cooper show his love for the characters of The Hangover
When asked if he wouldn’t do it “just to pay the bills”, Cooper’s response did not change. “I would probably do The Hangover 4 in a heartbeat, yes,” he said, “just because I love Todd [Phillips], I love Zach [Galifianakis], I love Ed [Helms] so much. I do. “I probably would, yes.”
However, Cooper said that just because he’s interested in reprising the role doesn’t mean the cast and crew will be heading to Sin City for a second round anytime soon. He said, “I don’t think Todd is ever going to do that.”
Released in 2009, The Hangover was based on a group of grooms who become unlikely friends after accidentally losing their future husbands during their bachelor party in Las Vegas. This film had two sequels, which were released in 2011 and 2013.
While on the podcast, Cooper also said that he also finds dramatic roles to be a lot of fun. “You said the word ‘fun.’ I’ve never experienced anything more fun than The Maestro and A Star Is Born,” he said. “This is me having fun.”
Maestro is now playing in select theaters before coming to Netflix on December 20th.
