Anne Hathaway “Thank god my version of Barbie was not materialized.”
Anne Hathaway is heavily influenced by Greta Gerwig’s film Barbie. So much so that she feels “lucky” that her Barbie movie was never made. In 2017, Anne was associated with the Sony movie Barbie. Amy Schumer was originally cast in the role, but due to “scheduling conflicts” at the time, she was replaced by Anne. After Anne was cast, the film’s release date was set for May 2020, but it never materialized.
On a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hathaway praised the record-breaking summer blockbuster “Barbie,” which brought the famous doll to life.
Anne Hathaway told host Josh Horowitz: “Margot is absolutely brilliant. What she’s doing as a creative person and producer is very exciting and inspiring. And the mythological giants that she [Barbie] has defeated have given people a lot of opportunities to follow forward.”. She stepped forward; she is dancing and shining!
The phenomenal teamwork: “Bullseye, they took the entire world to this level of ecstasy. Now imagine that version—so much energy, so much anticipation, so much excitement—but it’s not the right version. So I really love it. I like it, and I consider it a privilege.”
