Alyssa Milano is the reaeon ehy Shannen Doherty fired from ‘Charmed’
Holly Marie Combs claims Alyssa Milano threatened to sue Charmed executives if Shannen Doherty wasn’t fired from the WB series.
Marie claimed on Monday’s episode of Doherty’s “Let’s Be Clear” podcast that she had a meeting with the show’s creator, Jonathan Levin, in the early 2000s to find out. Why was your co-star fired from the WB series?
Combs recalled Jonathan Levin saying, “It wasn’t our intention (to fire Shannon), but we’ve been backed into this corner.”
“‘Alyssa told us it was her or [Shannon] and Alyssa threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment.'”
Apparently, Combs indicated that Alyssa Milano had allegedly built a case against her and Doherty; She had reportedly “documented that she felt uncomfortable whenever she was on set.”
Combs said she told producers that she never wanted to do Charmed without Doherty, which reportedly touched Levin.
Combs shocked by Alyssa Milano accusation
Combs admitted that she was surprised by Milano’s accusations, as she did not remember any “dispute” or even “harsh words” exchanged between the three in public.
Combs said there are people in the entertainment industry who behave badly and “get away with it,” adding, “I don’t think people understand that this has never happened here.”
Combs starred in all eight seasons of Charmed, which aired from 1998 to 2006, as middle sister Piper Halliwell. Milo played the youngest sister, Phoebe, while Doherty played Prue, the oldest of the three. Doherty’s character was abruptly written out of the show at the end of season 3 and replaced by Rose McGowan, who joined the cast as long-lost stepsister Paige Matthews.
