Alia Bhatt became the new victim of deepfake video, after Rashmika Mandanna and other celebs
Alia Bhatt has become the latest actress to become the target of deepfakes with a video in which the star’s face has been morphed into that of another woman who appeared in the original clip. The original clip shows the woman looking at the camera and making obscene gestures.
This comes days after the Prime Minister flagged the misuse of artificial intelligence to create deepfakes and said the media should educate people about this emerging crisis.
Deepfake video of Rasmika Mandanna
Earlier this month, a fake video of Rashmika Mandanna raised concerns about the rampant misuse of artificial intelligence (AI). The widely circulated clip showed an altered version of Mandana entering an elevator. In the original video, Zara Patel, a British-Indian woman who has a large number of followers, originally posted the video on Instagram. Prominent players, Union ministers, and social media users collectively expressed outrage over the episode.
Deepfake Video of Katrina Kaif and Kajol
A few days later, a deepfake video showed Katrina Kaif dressed in a low-cut white top. The original image shows Kaif engaged in a high-octane fight scene with a Hollywood stuntwoman wrapped in a towel in a scene from her upcoming film “Tiger 3”. Similarly, actor Kajol also became the target of a deepfake video.

Danger of Deepfake videos of a famous personality
Deepfake is an advanced technology that can create various misunderstandings among people. As a result, it will destroy a famous person’s image or even create hate crimes.
Deepfakes are used mainly to spread false information or to intentionally harm someone’s image. They may be designed to harass, intimidate, defame, and blackmail people. Deepfakes can also create misinformation and confusion about important topics.
Additionally, deepfake technology can promote other unethical practices, such as the creation of revenge porn, where women suffer disproportionate harm.
What should you do if you see a deepfake?
If you find a deepfake, avoid sharing it immediately.
Additionally, if you are caught in a deepfake, immediately contact an attorney experienced in media and related law. Even if a photo or video is taken to “entertain,” it is still illegal if it is done without your knowledge or permission.
