Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria make their first red carpet appearance since the ‘Rust’ case dismissal
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin made their first red carpet appearance since Alec Baldwin’s recent court case related to the Rust shooting incident was dismissed. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin attended the War Game screening as part of the Hamptons International Film Festival’s SummerDocs series on July 20, Saturday, in East Hampton, New York.
Alec, 66, looked dapper in a dark blue jacket, light blue shirt, grey pants and brown shoes. He lovingly placed a hand on the waist of his wife, Hilaria, 40, whom he dazzled in a light pink fitted dress and cream-coloured stilettos. The couple, who share seven children, looked happy and relaxed as they posed for photos.
The public outing marks the first for the Baldwins since a New Mexico judge dismissed Alec’s manslaughter trial with prejudice on July 12.

Alec Baldwin’s “Rust” Trial
Alec Baldwin faced manslaughter charges after accidentally shooting and killing cinematographer Haylna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust. Joel Souza, the director, was also injured by the bullet fired by the actor.
However, Rust’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors blamed Gutierrez-Reed for unintentionally bringing live ammunition to the set of “Rust,” where it was expressly prohibited, and for failing to follow basic gun rules and security protocols.
The film concluded filming in May 2023 and is in the post-production process. However, the creators of Rust have not yet announced the release date.
The case was dismissed after Alec’s defence team argued that the prosecution had withheld critical evidence. His attorney, Luke Nikas, cited mishandling of key evidence, including ammunition related to the case. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ruled that the late discovery of this evidence impeded the fairness of the trial, leading to the dismissal of the case.
Alec Baldwin still faces civil lawsuits related to the Rust incident.
In addition to facing their legal challenges, Alec and Hilaria are preparing for their new TLC reality show, The Baldwins, which will feature their seven children: Carmen Gabriela, 10, Rafael Thomas, 8, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 3, María Lucía Victoria, 3, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months old. Alec also shares a 28-year-old daughter, Ireland, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
