To which Halle Berry responded with a “No,” when asked if there were any talks about playing Storm again in the latest Marvel film. She added that Blake Lively once approached her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show and she said, “Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?” Berry responded, “Yes, if he asks me,” about reprising her role as X-Men favourite Storm (aka Ororo Munroe), but Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, had no comment.

Berry played Storm opposite Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in four “X-Men” films: X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). The character died in the final film, but was quickly revived with Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. There was speculation about a Storm prequel film with Lupita N’Yongo for some time, but like Channing Tatum’s shelved Gambit prequel, nothing materialized. Berry’s Feud With Director Brayan Singer

Halle Berry has been open in past interviews about her clash with “X-Men” and “X2” director Bryan Singer on set while making the comic book movies. Berry describes Bryan as not an easy person to work with.

Berry previously told Variety, “I mean, everyone has heard the stories — I don’t have to repeat them — and they’ve heard about his challenges and struggles… I would get angry with him at times. I got into fights with him a few times, I said some bad words out of pure frustration. When I’m working, I take it seriously. And when that’s compromised, I go a little crazy.”

On X-Men: The Last Stand, Bryan Singer was replaced by Brett Ratner, however, the studio originally planned for Matthew Vaughn to be the director, but Vaughn turned it down when he found out the studio executive was planning to trick Halle Berry into reprising her role as Storm.

He said the first page of the script read, “African children were dying from lack of water, and Storm created a lightning storm to save all those children.” Vaughn thought that was a good idea. But he was shocked when he was told that was the only scene Storm would be in because Berry hadn’t signed on yet. And once she does, they’ll just throw it in the trash. Vaughn thought if they were going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress who plays Storm, he wouldn’t make the movie.
