A day after US President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris is now campaigning as a US presidential candidate. On Monday, she made her first public appearance since Joe endorsed his candidacy and walked to Beyonce’s Freedom. According to a CNN report, Kamala’s team got approval from Beyoncé’s representatives to use the song during her presidential campaign.
According to the report, the Cuff It singer, known for maintaining strict clearance guidelines around her music, “gave quick approval to Kamala’s campaign when they asked for permission to use Freedom on Monday,” just hours before Harris started her presidential campaign.
While Beyonce has not officially endorsed Kamala Harris since Joe Biden announced that he would not seek a second term, granting permission to use Freedom as a campaign song indicates that the politician has the singer’s support.
