As reported by Variety, Celine Dion was recently spotted outside the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Elysees in Paris. This is reportedly the same hotel where Lady Gaga is also staying. Reports mention that Lady Gaga is also one of the few performers at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. The singer’s fans have been sharing videos of her enjoying her stay in Paris. This has fueled speculation that she might perform at the event.

Dion first revealed that she was battling health issues in January 2022, when she was forced to cancel the remaining dates of her Courage World Tour in North America due to a slow recovery from “severe and persistent muscle spasms.”

“I was hoping I would be okay to go now, but I guess I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen my doctors prescribe,” she said. “I can’t wait to get back on stage.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, stiff person syndrome is “a rare disorder of motor function characterized by involuntary rigidity of the axial muscles and superimposed painful muscle spasms, often induced by startles or emotional stimuli.”

However, her problems persisted and, in April 2022, in an emotional message to her fans, she announced more cancellations and postponements.

The entertainer said “my going very slowly and it’s very frustrating for me. I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I still have some spasms and it’s taking a lot longer to recover from what I expected.”
