Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston are trying ‘salmon sperm facial’
On a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian, 43, told her mother Kris Jenner that she had a “salmon sperm facial” while filming promotional content for the Hulu series.
She said she had a salmon facial where salmon sperm was injected into her face.
Kim Kardashian is not the only star who has tried this facial treatment. Jennifer Aniston shared with The Wall Street Journal last year that she also got a salmon sperm facial, although she wasn’t sure it would make a difference to her skin. Aniston said “First of all, I said, ‘Are you serious? How do you get salmon sperm?’”
Why is salmon sperm used in beauty products?
Known as “salmon pdrn,” salmon testicle DNA has also been found in many luxury K-beauty products, including KAHI Wrinkle Free Multi Balm, which has been popularized on TV shows like Netflix’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and in Doja Cat’s “Vegas” music video. As the name implies, apply the balm over your face for a shiny, dewy look.
Coating yourself in fish genital DNA may seem questionable, but beauty experts, and many research, support its regenerative and anti-inflammatory effects. One study found that salmon sperm was associated with increased skin elasticity, repair of moisture barriers, and reduced inflammation, making it a viable option for those with dry or damaged skin. PDRN salmon is relatively safe and has few known side effects. But those who are vegan or allergic to fish are advised to stay away. Despite its anti-inflammatory effects, it is not intended to treat active acne, but rather dehydrated or damaged skin.
Kim Kardashian reveals her ‘bone was sticking out’ after horrific finger injury
Kim Kardashian has revealed the gruesome details behind the injury that left her with her hand wrapped in bandages earlier this year. On the Thursday, July 18, episode of The Kardashians, Kim visited a plastic surgeon to have her fingers examined.
The Skims founder went on to detail the excruciating pain she felt after the accident.
She said, “The big sliding door in my bathroom that opens,” “I was closing it and it doesn’t have a latch. You have to take the mechanics out from the inside.”
Kim usually extended her left hand to prevent the door from slamming shut. However, the reality star said she “tried hard” when Saint entered the room with an unexpected late-night snack.
“Saint ran in with fries,” continued Kim Kardashian, who is also mom to kids North, 11, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, “and I was like, ‘It’s 8:30 in the night, no snacks at night!”
And that was when the door “rumbled” between her fingers. Kim further added that she broke the tip of her middle finger and the doctor, after the examination, said that there is a possibility that she may never grow the nail back. To get rid of the overwhelming pain, Kim used hyperbaric oxygen therapy for 4 hours.
“I looked at my hand and fell to the floor,” the 43-year-old said, adding in a confessional, “I just grabbed the table and knelt because I saw all this blood.”
Kim continued, “The pain is horrible. You can’t describe the pain, but your whole body goes into shock. It was more painful than childbirth.”
When her doctor removed the bandages, he assured her that her fingers looked “great,” but Kim was still mortified at the sight. He even assured her that she would not need to have her finger amputated.
A few days later, Kim Kardashian gave another update. “The pain is still… horrible,” she admitted. When Kim attended Paris Fashion Week in March, she had bandages covering two of her fingers, leading fans to wonder what happened.
