Heather Knight the captain of women cricket team of England completes her 6,000 International runs during match against Australia

Heather Knight the captain of England women cricket team completed her 6000 runs in international cricket on wensday.

She gain this achivement in England’s 1st ODI of multi- format Ashes series against Australia.

In the match, Knight scored 75 runs in 86 balls with the help of six fours and a six, while playing the captaincy innings. Her half-century helped England chase down a total of 264 set by Australia, their highest successful run-chase in women’s ODIs.

Knight has so far scored 6,053 runs in 242 international matches at an average of 32.54. She has scored a total of five centuries and 33 half-centuries in international cricket, with a best score of 168.

She has represented England in 11 Tests, scoring 771 runs at an average of 45.35. Knight has two centuries and four fifties in 19 Test innings, with a best score of 168*.

ODIs remain their most successful format. She has scored 3,664 runs in 130 ODIs at an average of 37.01 and a strike rate of 72.75. Her best score in this format is 106.

Knight has also represented England in 101 T20Is, scoring 1,618 runs at an average of 23.11 and a strike rate of over 118. She has one century and four fifties in this format, with a best score of 108.

Talking about the match, Australia scored 263/8 in the stipulated 50 overs while batting first. Beth Mooney (81* from 99 balls), Ellyse Perry (41 from 51 balls), Phoebe Litchfield (34 from 36 balls) and Jess Jonassen (30 from 36 balls) were crucial for Australia.

Alice Capsey (40 from 34 balls) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (31 from 41 balls) helped England reach the target with two wickets and 11 balls to spare.

Ashley Gardner (3/42) and Georgia Wareham (2/34) were among the top bowlers for the Australian team.

The women’s Ashes are now tied at 6-6. Australia also won the one-off Test by four points and the first T20I, earning two more points.
England fought back to reduce their 6–0 lead and won the next two T20Is and the first ODI to get to their six points. Each win in the white-ball format earned England two points. Now to win the Ashes, they will have to win the next two ODIs as well.
