Ellen DeGeneres says she’s ‘done’ after her upcoming Netflix special

On Monday, July 1, Ellen DeGeneres, 66, took the stage at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts for her “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up” tour to update people on her life two years after it was cancelled her famous talk show. . . . . . . . . . According to SFGate, DeGeneres didn’t shy away from her exit from the spotlight.

During her monologue in Santa Rosa, California. When a fan asked if they could expect to see her on Broadway or the big screen in the near future, Ellen was quick to set the record straight. “Um, no,” she said, according to SFGATE. “This is the last time you’ll see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

But Ellen DeGeneres is grateful for the time she spends on stage.

“Thank you for still caring!” Elena said. “Let me catch you up on what’s been happening to me since you last saw me. I have chickens.”
And she added: “Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”

Ellen DeGeneres accused of unhealthy and toxic work

Ellen has kept a low profile in recent years, although she recently spoke out about the “cancellation” of her in Hollywood and the reputation she had behind the scenes in front of television.

In a July 2020 BuzzFeed News report, anonymous former and current employees of hers accused her of creating a toxic and unhealthy work environment at her show. Complaints included penalties for taking medical leave, instances of racial microaggressions, and fear of retaliation for filing complaints.

Most recently, DeGeneres cancelled four dates of her upcoming shows just a month after kicking off her stand-up tour. No details were provided about the cancellation other than an alert from Ticketmaster.

Ellen’s Netflix comedy special will air in late 2024.
