Nicki Minaj’s second Amsterdam concert cancelled
Nicki Minaj may no longer perform in Amsterdam after she was arrested last week for allegedly “carrying drugs” in the European country.
Addressing her upcoming concert scheduled for Sunday night, the official website of concert promoter, Mojo, made the announcement.
Their statement reads, “Due to the events of the past week, Nicki Minaj’s show at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on Sunday, June 2 will no longer take place. Tickets will be refunded when they go on sale.”
However, it appears the Bang Bang hitmaker has not spoken about the cancellation on any of her social media platforms, leaving her fans disappointed. Also read – Nicole Brown Simpson endured a lot even after separation from her ex-husband O.J. Simpson.
Nicki Minaj documents her arrest
The raptress said Minaj took to social media to document her arrest by police officers at an airport in the Netherlands last week for allegedly “carrying drugs.” Minaj was headed to Manchester for the next stop of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour but had to postpone the show due to her legal troubles. She repeatedly denied the allegations made by Dutch authorities.
In several posts, Minaj claimed that the authorities “took my luggage without consent” and were “trying to stop me from going to Manchester.” She further added, “This is Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal.”
According to the BBC, Dutch police said Minaj was fined and allowed to continue her trip. In a statement, Minaj said she sat in a jail cell for “5-6 hours” and that her plane was not allowed to take off until 20 minutes after boarding the plane. Minaj alleged that her being stopped at the airport was part of a plan to stop her from going to Manchester and derail her tour.
