Nicki Minaj detained at Amsterdam airport for alleged drug possession

According to multiple media reports, Nicki Minaj was released after being arrested in Amsterdam on Saturday.  Footage from Minaj’s Instagram Live showed her exchange with an officer. It was then recorded and posted on X by various fan accounts.

Multiple reports claim that Amsterdam police confirmed Minaj’s release in a post on the agency’s Dutch-language X account, although her name was not mentioned. In English, it reads: “We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol on suspicion of exporting soft drugs. After consulting with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was fined and she can continue her trip.”

Nicki Minaj recounted the entire incident on social media

Nicki Minaj shared several videos from Schiphol Airport on Saturday, in which authorities could be heard saying that she was under arrest. As a result, the Grammy nominee, who is currently on her Pink Friday 2 world tour, has postponed her UK tour date this weekend.

The first recording shared on Instagram, was filmed from inside her minivan. The clip began with Minaj saying, “Tell me again,” before an official said, “The police officer told me we have to unload all the luggage and search everything.”

When she asked why they didn’t search her bags before the airport loaded them onto her plane, the official said it was a “random” check. In the 2nd half of the video, which was shared on X, formerly Twitter, officers can be seen confirming her arrest.
“We have to go to the police station,” an officer said in the video.

Authorities could be heard ordering her to stop filming and get into a police van, prompting Nicki Minaj to explain that she was waiting for her lawyer, to which an officer said she could do from the police station. The footage ends with Minaj accessing and entering the vehicle.

She was released hours after her detention began.

Nicki Minaj’s posts about airlines and airports on X follow Megan Thee Stallion’s rant from earlier this year.

In addition to this dispute with airport officials, Minaj is known for her public feuds with other female rappers, including Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. Earlier this year, she lashed out at Megan Thee Stallion in a series of tweets and a diss song ” Big Foot.”
“Swearing on your dead mother when you lie,” Minaj said in one line. “Because she was lying on top of your dead mother.”

She also told Megan Thee Stallion that “she fell, I told her ‘get up on your good foot,'” about the 2020 shooting of her Houston-born rival by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. Later in the song, Minaj raps “Like a bodybuilder, I keep raising the bar” before rhyming and asking “you get shot with no scar?”

In “Hiss,” fans pointed out a line—“These hoes ain’t mad at Megan, these hoes be mad at Megan’s Law”—as a possible reference to Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. Because Megan law requires police to communicate information to the public about sex offenders.

However, Megan Thee Stallion is facing her problem now as a few weeks ago one of her previous cameramen filed a lawsuit against her for harassment and lack of payment.
